Sony currently have 3 different LED TV models available in the UK, Starting with the 40 inch Edge-lit KDL-40ZX1 which is only 9.9mms thick and is one of the slimmest LED TVs available and the 46 inch KDL-46X4500 and 55 inch KDL-55X4500 LED HDTV sets which use a local dimming LED Backlight system.

All current Sony Bravia LED TV models have a full high definition screen resolution of 1920x1080, which is the highest resolution currently available and delivers incredible clarity.

Only 2 models of the X series currently use LED backlights instead of CCFL backlights, these are the 55" KDL-55X4500 and 46" KDL-46X4500 but these feature packed LED LCD TVs use a local dimming LED backlight which can turn of individual areas of the backlight to produce exceptionally dark areas and bright areas, all in the same image and they come with everything that you would expect from a Sony Bravia such as Picture in Picture (PiP), on/off timer, Sleep Timer, Teletext andAuto Volume Adjustment.

Sony Bravia ZX series
Available only as a 40inch version the Sony Bravia KDL-40ZX1 differs from the x series by using LED Edge lighting instead of LED backlighting, it also comes with a separate Bravia 1080 wireless media receiver, which contains most of the ports/connectors that would normally be on the TV set and wirelessly transmits the signal to the LED TV screen. This has 2 main benefits, 1 is that the screen is remarkably thin at only 9.9mms thick! The other is that you can connect all your other devices such as a Blu-ray player or home cinema system with out having lots of cables going directly to the TV set, so wall mounting will be a lot tidier.
