Philips have announced that they will be releasing two new 9000 series LCD televisions in the UK in December in time for Christmas. The PFL9704 models will feature Philips new LED Pro local dimming backlight system that has over 1000 L.E.D.s which are dimmed completely in dark areas and will be available as either 40 inch or 46 inch versions.

The 40PFL9704H and 46PFL9704H also feature Philips outstanding Ambilight spectra 3, which projects a glow which automatically matches the picture from the back of the screen and onto the surrounding wall, whilst the 200hz clear lcd and perfect pixel HD engine take care of producing ultra smooth Full HD pictures with a Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 5,000,000:1.
